I am a Computer Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, where I completed my 3A term before taking a leave of absence. My interests span embedded systems, human-computer interaction, backend infrastructure, and applied machine learning.
Current Focus: Assistive Communication Technology
I am currently developing a customized assistive communication device for a user who cannot rely on speech or conventional handwriting. The system combines a dedicated USB HID keyboard with an ESP32-S3-based display device, Korean text input, and future wireless communication with a caregiver-facing receiver.
The project requires work across embedded firmware, hardware design, accessibility, and interface design. I am documenting the requirements, engineering decisions, prototypes, and failures through an ongoing development log.

My previous experience includes financial data and machine learning at Korea Fund Ratings, backend systems using AWS and Node.js at Escape Platforms, 6G research at Huawei Ottawa R&D Centre, industrial software at Stackpole International, and creative engineering projects at The Hacksmith.
